David MacKinnon

"Davie" Mackinnon started his professional football career at 16 years of age spending 4 years at Arsenal, before returning to Scotland to play with 6 clubs including Dundee, Rangers, Kilmarnock and Partick Thistle. Playing over 600 professional games in his 20 years as a player, he won a Scottish League cap, and several winners’ medals.

On retirement from his playing career, he spent 12 years at Bass PLC where he was involved in developing several retail pubs and restaurants, including O’Neill’s, All Bar One, and J&R Tennent. He then became Operations Director and shareholder in Scotland’s largest independent pub retailer, before selling the business in a £21million sale to Pubmaster. He then moved back into sports and events via a CEO role within 110Sports management, across a range of sports including snooker, cycling, golf and football.

Returning to the professional game, he was appointed Commercial Director at Clyde FC, then General Manager at Kilmarnock FC, Chief Executive at Dundee FC and Greenock Morton, as well as spending several years at Hamilton Academical FC, where he was Head of player recruitment, as well as Director of Media and communications.

David has had a successful professional business and football career,
which has covered a variety of business and sporting sectors with a focus on
business development, strategic planning, and commercial enterprise. He has also been able to use the principles of football in team-work, communication and setting winning targets, in his senior management roles in business.

Latterly he has been Managing Director of significant business start-ups in finance and media.
